a_kleberНа аль-твиттере ажиотаж - началось голосование диаспоры в Австралии. В воскресенье все решится. Вполне возможно, это будет концом всех надежд (из диктаторского огня да в религиозное полымя).

It’s doubly strange because the principle has been bent before, by Stephen Harper’s Conservative government and their Liberal predecessors, to let Italian-Canadians elect Canadians to Italy’s parliament.
Canada, alone among Western nations, is banning some types of foreign voting, meaning expatriates and dual citizens can’t vote in Tunisia’s election, and in the legislative elections of Italy and France, too.»

УПД. Только что в студию - консервативное канадское правительство таки уперлось:
«OTTAWA – Les relations entre Ottawa et Tunis se sont détériorées ces dernières heures. Le gouvernement conservateur de Stephen Harper n’en démord pas : il n’est pas question que les Tunisiens du Canada participent à l’élection de l’assemblée constituante qui se déroulera dans leur pays d’origine, dimanche.
En effet, Ottawa ne veut pas que le Canada devienne une circonscription territoriale étrangère, ce qui porterait atteinte à sa souveraineté, dit-on au ministère des Affaires étrangères.

Mais la Tunisie a l’intention de passer outre cette interdiction. »
